Play Action Shoot (Terrell Lloyd, myself, Kym Fortino, and Ben Warden) – October 7, 2012

Keeping my posts in chronological order…

I just realized that I posted pictures of the tailgate, but forgot to put the actual game! Oops! I swear I will get my momentum back.

This was the first game in October for the San Francisco 49ers, and just like the rest of the other teams in the NFL, there were pops of bright pink throughout the stadium in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

It may have been another day on the job, but I definitely enjoyed the beautiful scenery.

Datu Knows x Play Action Shoot

49ers vs Vikings (September 23, 2012) – Photo by Terrell Lloyd & edited by Melissa Datu

I wanted to share my first official post on Play Action Shoot! Since the rest of the crew (Terrell & Kym) are currently working at the 49ers/Jets game, I didn’t want to sit on the couch and do nothing.

So this is how I spent my Sunday.

I edited pictures and blogged at home, while the crew is away at the game. I wanted to contribute one way or another. Check it out!

Let’s go NINERS!

Tailgate: 49ers vs Lions

September 16, 2012

Football is finally here!!

Yesterday was the San Francisco 49ers home opener at Candlestick Park! I enjoyed my first tailgate of the season with good friends and family.

The place was packed (more than usual), due to the fact that the 49ers just came off an amazing 2011-2012 season. Even though I only hung out for a couple hours, since I had to be on the field for work; I still had a great time.

No Surprises

Press play and thank me later.

I’m the type of person who hates surprises. Call me a bit of a control freak, but every part of me needs to know the basic who, what, when, and how. That’s just me.

However, last year’s 49ers season wasn’t expected at all and this time I can’t complain.

No one could have called it. They had a depressing 6-10 record the year before and no real sign of hope in the near future. Confronted with an NFL lockout, made it even more difficult to stay optimistic.

Where’s Datu?!

Who could that be on television walking by Patrick Willis after the 49ers vs Vikings preseason game?

Me, of course!!! Waldo, who?

It’s become a tradition with my family and friends to play “Where’s Datu?”  My family has recorded each game that I’ve worked on the field (only three so far, but many more to come), and we watch it after, in hopes of spotting myself on t.v.

Game Recognize Game: Super Bowl XLVI

Yup, that’s me on the field during the NFC Championship game! I got my eye on ya, Eli Manning!

Life has been pretty hectic with school and work. I haven’t been able to incorporate much sports time and blogging in my busy schedule.

However, I was able to knock two birds with one stone with this post.

My teacher gave me permission to write about today’s Super Bowl for my first essay. So I chose the argumentative route. I decided to explain why I think the New England Patriots will lose this one…again.

Tailgate Mixtape

“We’re the 49ers” – San Francisco 49ers (1984)

Yup! I had to throw in the original! Not too many people remember this one! I”m an 80′s baby, so this song definitely made the cut!

With all the 49ers songs coming out nowadays, I decided to make a mixtape for our tailgate this weekend. Can you believe it? The Niners are in the NFC Championship!

I plan on keeping warm by dancing my butt off to all these hits. You’ll probably catch me doing the “Tony Montana” dance on the sideline with the rest of my crew!

Here’s some videos for all of you to enjoy! I dedicate these songs to the team & the 49ers Faithful!

Best Job Ever!

First day at my new job!

This past weekend, I was given the opportunity of a lifetime!! I was offered to work with 49ers photographer, Terrell Lloyd. You can find his work on the 49ers website & on their Facebook page.

And while there’s some things in life, where certain factors must be considered in order to make a decision; this job offer was definitely not one of those moments. I had to do it! No questions asked!

Tailgate: 49ers vs Saints (NFC Playoff)

Last Saturday, I got to attend my very first 49ers playoff game!

For those of you who don’t know, I have been a season ticket holder with the San Francisco 49ers since 2009.  And while I’ve been to many games at Candlestick Park, there was nothing like this one!

Here are a few pictures of our tailgate. Good food. Good company. Great times!
